At The Tile Society, we believe Mahjong is about so much more than matching tiles and making hands. It's about gathering around the table, sharing laughs, meeting new friends, and finding a little joy in your week.
Whether you've never touched a Mahjong tile or you've been playing for years, there's a seat waiting for you.
So, What Is Mahjong?
Mahjong is a fast-paced game of skill, strategy, and a little bit of luck. Using the annual National Mahjong League card, players work to build winning hands while drawing, discarding, and keeping an eye on what everyone else is doing.
The basics are easy to learn, but the strategy keeps you coming back hand after hand. That's part of what makes it so much fun.

Where Should I Start?
Mahjong 101 (3 Hours)
Perfect for beginners. Learn the tiles, the card, the rules, etiquette, and the fundamentals you need to start playing with confidence.
Mahjong 102 (2 Hours)
Ready for the next step? We'll focus on strategy, hand selection, defensive play, and reading the game more effectively.
Upcoming Classes
We've intentionally started with a small number of classes at different days and times to see what works best for our growing community. As interest grows, we'll continue adding classes, guided play sessions, open play, tournaments, and special events to the calendar.
